The country needs strong women! This is no longer just a wishful motto at the Hyatt group. Over a decade ago, the initiative Women@Hyatt began establishing equality in all areas of the hotel without quota regulations. This has been a great success, as demonstrated by four diverse examples of Hyatt power women from the European central region around the Park Hyatt in Vienna. “I am a member of the Women@Hyatt Chapter for Austria and thus involved in planning and executing actions. I think it’s fantastic that women at Hyatt receive special support in this framework. In mentoring programs, one is paired with mentees to support them with various topics such as networking, soft skills, etc.,” enthuses Marijke Kortmann, Revenue Manager at Park Hyatt Vienna since 2021. Jennifer Chow, who earned her hotel management bachelor’s degree in distant Sydney, has been working for Hyatt since 2015 and has been Director of Operations at Andaz Prague since last year. She particularly appreciates this philosophy because “elegance, service, and pure luxury are expressed.”
Liliane Grünig, Director of Operations at Park Hyatt Zurich, studied International Hospitality at the École hôtelière in Lausanne, discovered her love for the hotel industry in Latin America, and has been working for Hyatt since May 2023: “The Park Hyatt Zurich celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2024. With its avant-garde architecture, Park Hyatt Zurich reflects timeless elegance inspired by art. Although I have only been with Hyatt for a year, I have already had multiple opportunities to actively participate in events from Women@Hyatt Switzerland and I am very excited about the upcoming start of a mentorship program. A unique opportunity!”

Rosa Schnetzer, a pastry apprentice at Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere, has also been positively influenced by the Hyatt spirit: “Big events give me the opportunity to further develop my time management skills! It’s wonderful to create something amazing from ingredients that bring people joy! Within the Hyatt family, with all the opportunities especially for women, I would love to work abroad one day. It’s a great feeling to be so embedded in this philosophy even as a young employee!” Women@Hyatt is not just a catchy resolution; it’s a lived hospitality philosophy that promotes women and offers numerous opportunities. It embodies the Hyatt motto “We care for people so they can be their best!” not only for guests but also internally on a daily basis. Everyone is seen and treated as an individual – a global success philosophy,
