Four players, one ball, loads of fun and action – the new trend sport of padel tennis is not only becoming increasingly popular in Austria, but it has also made
its way into the employee fitness program, Fit4You, at the Park Hyatt Vienna. “What started with a padel tournament for luxury hotels a year ago has developed into a lasting cooperation with the Park Hyatt Vienna,” says Lukas Reichl, Head of Marketing at Padlezone GmbH, with satisfaction. From the General Manager to the maid or maintenance technician, everyone suddenly wanted to join in. “An-other good reason to participate in our Fit4You program, which ensures even greater well-being for our team and is very well received,” says General Manager Barbara Göttling, also excited about the trendy sports offering operated at four Padlezone locations in Vienna. Padlezone has been popularizing this trend sport across Austria since the autumn of 2020 and currently offers 16 locations nationwide for playing, training, workshops, and a Padelzone Academy. The trend of padel enthusiasm is sharply rising!

The Park Hyatt team also trains in the large padel hall in Hagenbrunn during the winter.
Padelzone now has 16 locations throughout Austria.
Padel tennis was actually invented in the mid-1960s in Mexico – out of necessity. Allegedly, Don Enrique Corcuera wanted a tennis court on his property in Acapulco. Lacking enough space, he built a smaller version next to a concrete wall, which was then quickly included in the game, similar to squash. Regardless, inventor Corcuera eventually had the entire court surrounded by side walls, and thus padel sport was born. A trend sport that also promotes the well-being of the employees at the Park Hyatt Vienna!
